German vehicle, supplied with the original vehicle registration document (only two registered owners to date), continuously registered and in operational service or garaged until 10/2025.

Listed as manufacturer in the original documents: GFG (Geländefahrzeug-Gesellschaft), formerly a joint venture between Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria. This is one of the last vehicles bearing this manufacturer entry; shortly thereafter, "Daimler-Benz" was listed as the manufacturer in the registration documents.

According to a 1991 entry, a complete MATTER roll bar was installed, which remains in the vehicle.

Also included is a small roof rack system for transporting long equipment.

The long-wheelbase 280 GE is the largest and most powerful variant of the first-generation G-Class available ex factory in the early years.

The M110 straight-six petrol engine (2717 cc, 115 kW/156 hp) runs well.

4-speed manual gearbox with differential locks.

There is a power take-off for operating the generator.

The vehicle was primarily used to transport a portable fire pump (TS) with suction hoses and accessories. Therefore, there are no rear seats and only a loading area. Besides the two front seats, no additional seats are available.

According to the original documents, it is a "3-seater" and registered as "Other vehicle, fire brigade rapid intervention vehicle (VRW)".

Unladen weight: 2,360 kg.

Permissible total weight was originally 2,900 kg, increased to 3,030 kg in 1991 per registration entry.

Current payload is 670 kg for the 280 GE.

Tyres: 205/80R16.

Fitted with quality winter tyres bearing the snowflake symbol according to current legal requirements (DOT = 2018).

A towbar is not fitted, but the required base crossmember is installed. Retrofitting/towing capacity cannot be specified, as the relevant fields are marked "not applicable" in the original registration papers.

The 280 GE is immediately available and ready for registration. It was recently driven a longer distance on the motorway to our location, which it handled without issue. According to verbal history, the vehicle is accident-free, though this cannot be verified and is therefore passed on to the buyer as such verbal information.

The car has always been well cared for, but it is a used vehicle. Therefore, it should not be expected to be like new, but it can be expected to have a solid base and be in good condition for its 1981 year of manufacture.
