Flottweg three-phase decanter centrifuge, Z4D-3/441, last used in a fruit juice processing plant. Drum internal diameter: 420 mm; drum internal length: 1245 mm; drum wall thickness: 10 mm. The material to be separated is fed into the hollow central shaft of the decanter. Solids are deposited on the drum wall by centrifugal force. A cylindrical-conical scroll conveyor transports the solid ring to the discharge ports, where it is expelled into the solids housing. The two liquid phases separate according to their specific gravity and form two concentric liquid cylinders. The diameters of these liquid rings can be adjusted via peeling disc and weir plate. One phase is discharged without pressure, the other is pressure discharged via the peeling disc. Moisture content of the solids and the purity of the liquids can be regulated by: - changing the phase separation discs and peeling disc diameter - decanter bowl speed - differential speed of the scroll.
