The Reitruder technology operates with co-rotating twin screws. We have adapted this twin-screw technology for use in direct extrusion lines—mainly for inline compounding. This consolidates several process steps into a single one.

EXTRUSION
Among other new developments, the co-rotating twin-screw extruder Reitruder RZE 85 was the centerpiece of Reifenhäuser’s trade fair presentation at NPE. A differentiated concept with new design elements was developed. The screw geometry was adapted to changing requirements with greater channel depth and a newly designed feed section. These measures improve material intake when processing PET flakes or regrind and increase the volume available for dosing fillers. This results in significant advantages when processing lower-quality raw materials. Additionally, more efficient degassing allows for processing materials with moisture contents up to 0.5 percent, minimizing the need for pre-drying.
