The two liquid phases separate according to their specific gravity and form two concentric liquid cylinders. The diameters of these liquid rings can be adjusted via peeling disc and weir plate. One phase is discharged without pressure, the other is pressure discharged via the peeling disc. Moisture content of the solids and the purity of the liquids can be regulated by: - changing the phase separation discs and peeling disc diameter - decanter bowl speed - differential speed of the scroll.
